Islamic Weekend School

Welcome to Roselawn Mosque Islamic Weekend School. The school will meet twice a week, every Saturday and Sunday; within this time our dedicated teachers will strive to the best of their abilities to provide a sound Islamic education to their students.

The School Program is structured around the following areas of focus

Beginners

Quran Arabic: The students will learn the Arabic alphabet, and the Arabic vowel marks (Tashkeel or Harakaat), and will be taught to read short Surahs to help them improve their reading ability.

Intermediate

Holy Quran: Memorization of surahs, learning their meanings and interpretations of commonly used Islamic words.

Advanced

Islamic Studies: Elements of Imaan (faith); Islamic Morals and Etiquettes; Five Pillars of Islam – Shahadah (oneness of God), Salat (5 Daily Prayers), Sawmu Ramadan  (Fasting in Ramadan), Zakah (Obligatory Charity), Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mecca); Sirah (biography) and Hadith (traditions) of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), stories of all the prophets mentioned in the Holy Quran (Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and others – peace be upon all of them); lessons from the lives of sahabas (companions of Prophet Muhammad PBUH – may Allah be pleased with them).
